Musical Fountain – A Perfect Ensemble

The latest attraction, which has gained momentum in the recent years is Dr. Bhimrao Ambedkar Park situated on the banks of the Gomti river. This architectural marvel was inaugurated by the then chief minister, to mark the 54th death anniversary of the famous icon Dr Ambedkar. This memorial houses a bronze statue of Dr. Ambedkar which towers a 15ft. It has come to be one of the much sought-after tourist destinations in Lucknow.

The crowd puller being the musical fountain developed in a 22-acre area, which provides absolute entertainment to both the tourists and the locals. These musical fountains are appeasing and relaxing to both mind as well as the eyes. It is achieved by employing the effect of timed sound waves and timed light against water particles. This fountain is supposed to have an audience of about 200 to 300 each day.

People are amazed by the fountain performing a stunning number, swaying to the tunes rhythmically forming different patterns. The lights are also choreographed accordingly, rendering it a theatrical effect. Watching the whole show is enthralling and mesmerising. As the crescendo is reached one can see the eye-catching movements of the main fountain reaching its maximum height making it for a brilliant moment. The other multiple fountains placed in the exteriors seem to be in perfect sync with the main fountain and compliments to the entire effect.

The park is covered with a natural grass which almost resembles a perfect manicured green carpet. It provides to be a perfect area for an evening stroll or a leisurely walk along the banks. There are marble statues built in and around the park, which are known for its life-like appearances, ought not to be missed. The place is extremely scenic with the back drop of the Gomti river flowing.

The musical fountain show is conducted only in the evenings, since the lighting effects can be well appreciated after the day lights. It is a perfect place for people of any age group. While the adults can sink in the tranquil atmosphere, there is enough attraction for the children and teenagers too. A mile away is the famous marine drive, which is a favourite hot spot destination of the young gen.

Winter (November to February): 11.00am to 8.00pm.
Musical Fountain Show Timings: 7.30pm to 9.00pm.
Closed on: Mondays.
Entry Ticket: Rs 10/- per person. Free for children below 5 years and handicapped people.
How to reach: This place is well connected by buses. One may also avail local cabs, auto rickshaws to reach the destination.
